The Meridian Shift

Terms of use

What we provide, what we do not, and what each of us is responsible for. Short, because a long one nobody reads protects nobody.

Last updated 11 October 2026

1. Who this is between

“We” is The Meridian Shift. “You” is whoever is using the site or an account on it. Using either means these terms apply; if you do not want them to, do not use it.

2. What it costs

No paid subscription required for DebtFree Shift. Getting out of debt shouldn’t come with a monthly bill. Creating an account costs nothing. No card needed.

The rest of The Meridian Shift — the Builder Series tools and the University — is the paid product, and anything about pricing, billing or refunds for those will be set out when they open. Nothing is billed through this site today.

We are not promising that today’s price is permanent, and you should not read anything on this site as that promise. What we are saying is the sentence above: using DebtFree does not require a subscription. If that ever changes, anybody holding an account hears it from us first and in good time.

3. This is not financial advice

DebtFree does arithmetic on figures you type in. The assessment is a two-minute compass based on your own answers. Neither is advice, and neither of us should pretend otherwise:

  • We are not your financial adviser, accountant, lawyer or credit counsellor, and using this does not make us one.
  • A payoff date is a projection from the numbers on the screen. Interest rates move, minimums change, and a figure entered wrong produces a confident answer that is wrong.
  • The decisions are yours. Deferring a bill has consequences we can describe and cannot absorb.

If you are in genuine trouble with debt, talk to somebody qualified. This tool is good at showing you the shape of the problem; it is not a substitute for that conversation.

4. Your account

Keep your password to yourself; anything done with your sign-in is treated as done by you. Give us an address you can actually receive mail at, because confirming it and resetting a password are the only ways back in.

One account is one person. You can close it whenever you like — see section 8 of the privacy policy.

5. Your figures are yours

What you enter belongs to you. We do not sell it, share it for advertising or use it to train anything. We use it to run the tools for you, and that is the whole of it — the privacy policy sets out the detail.

You can download a copy of it, or delete it, from your account page whenever you like. We would rather you kept your own copy of anything that matters to you.

6. Using it properly

Do not:

  • try to reach anybody else’s data, or test whether you can;
  • scrape it, resell it, or run it as part of something you charge other people for;
  • put anything illegal into it, or use it to do something illegal to somebody else;
  • break it on purpose, or load it in a way designed to take it down for others.

We can close an account that does any of that. We will tell you why, unless telling you is itself the problem.

7. What is built, and what is not

We label things Available Now, In Development and Coming Soon, and we mean it. Anything described as coming is not a commitment to a date, and nothing on this site should be read as a promise that a particular feature will exist.

DebtFree is being built in the open and it has rough edges. Where something is unfinished the app says so on the screen rather than here.

8. Availability

We will keep it running and we are not promising it never goes down. There is no uptime guarantee, no support window and no response time, because we would rather not state one than state one we cannot keep. If something is broken, email us and a person will look at it.

9. What we are responsible for

The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from using it — including a financial decision you took with it in front of you. That is not us dodging: it follows from section 3, because an app that multiplies the numbers you typed cannot carry the consequences of the decision you make from them.

Nothing here limits anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. What is ours

The site, its text, the tools and the book are ours. Your own figures are not, and never become ours by being entered.

11. Changes

The date at the top is the version. If we change something material we will email account holders rather than quietly editing the page. Carrying on using the site after a change means the new version applies.

12. Contact

contact@themeridianshift.com. A person reads it.
